New guiding content with easy access to relevant information and tools

I contributed to user interviews and behaviour analysis to enhance TRR’s guiding content, uncovering a need for checklists, clearer overviews, and better tool integration. I helped design and prototype an organized content page with guides and streamlined access to tools, collaborating with specialists. After the usability tests, I iterated the design to improve the hierarchy and simplify page navigation to ensure a smooth handoff to developers, with a plan to track post-launch performance and gather user feedback for continuous improvements.
Background
TRR provides guiding content to support individuals through various stages – from being laid off to achieving new career goals.
TRR sought to enhance the presentation of this content to better align with user expectations. Interviews revealed that users value simple checklists for an overview of necessary steps and in-depth resources that explain how to take action.

However, the current guiding content was seen as challenging to navigate and lacked clarity, making it hard for users to get a clear overview across different areas. TRR also aimed to better integrate this content with other forms of support – such as relevant tools, information, and in-person assistance – to ensure users receive comprehensive guidance and support on each topic that was connected to the customer journey.
My contribution in this initiative
  • Research and define
I contributed to conducting user interviews and behavior analysis to understand how TRR clients engage with guiding content. Users expressed a need for simple checklists, clearer overviews, and better integration of tools to streamline their experience. These insights shaped both the content improvements and the design of the new guiding content page, ensuring it addressed user needs and enhanced usability.
    1
  • Design and prototype
I contributed to designing and restructuring content into clear, organized sections featuring guides, checklists, and easy access to relevant tools and services from TRR. I developed an interactive prototype to simulate the user experience, integrating seamless pathways to tools and support. Additionally, I collaborated with specialists to refine the design, ensuring the concept was ready for usability testing and aligned with user needs.

  • Key insights from the user test
During usability testing, several key insights surfaced. Users preferred having the checklist positioned higher on the page for quicker access. They appreciated relevant information and support that enabled them to dive deeper and expand their knowledge as needed.

Additionally, users found page navigation redundant due to the streamlined and concise nature of the content. These findings underscored the importance of prioritizing actionable elements, such as the checklist, and simplifying navigation to create a smoother, more intuitive user experience.

  • Iterating and prepared for implementation
Following the usability test, I refined the design to incorporate user feedback, enhancing the visual hierarchy to highlight key sections and improve content scannability. This ensured users could easily access and engage with important information.

The final design was polished and ready for implementation, supported by detailed design specifications to ensure a seamless handoff to developers. Additionally, I established a plan to measure impact and gather ongoing feedback post-launch using Hotjar services, enabling continuous improvements to the content page based on real user interactions.
