At Bilweb, I led the redesign of an established platform serving nearly 600,000 monthly car buyers and enthusiasts, and acting as a marketplace for over 2,000 car dealers. My work focused on improving the overall user experience, with a strong emphasis on navigation, lead generation, accessability and conversion rates. I also laid the foundation for a new scalable design system, enabling a more consistent and efficient product development process across the platform.

Search and filter for cars for sale from car dealers

Buying a car can be overwhelming—so I set out to make it feel effortless. I redesigned the car listing experience with the user in mind, creating a more intuitive search and filter navigation that helped people find the right vehicle faster and with more confidence.

Instead of scrolling through endless ads, users could now easily narrow down their options, compare models side by side, and get clear, relevant details. I also integrated helpful third-party tools along the way—like insurance offers and loan comparisons—so users could make smarter decisions without leaving the platform.

The result? A smoother, more empowering journey from browsing to buying. And for the business, it led to higher engagement, stronger lead quality, and improved conversion rates—because when the experience works better for users, it works better for everyone.

View car detailes and get in contact with the car dealer

When a user discovered a car that caught their eye, the journey didn’t stop there—it opened up. They could explore detailed specs, compare it to similar vehicles by smart inbuilt AI tool, and, when ready, quickly reach out to the dealer.

To support that decision-making moment, I introduced recommended cars and smart third-party integrations—like insurance suggestions, loan comparison tools, and contextual Google Ads—all seamlessly embedded in the experience. These additions helped users move from interest to action, with everything they needed in one place.

For the business, this meant not only a more engaging user journey, but also stronger lead generation and higher conversion rates for dealers and partners alike.

Compare loan terms from multiple lenders

As users explored cars and imagined their next vehicle, many naturally wondered: “Can I afford this?” To help with that moment, we introduced a simple, built-in loan application. With just a few details about what they aimed to borrow, users could instantly receive tailored offers from multiple lenders directly within the platform.

This made it easy to compare terms, understand their financing options, and move forward with confidence, whether they were ready to buy or just exploring what was possible.

Compare offers for a new car or match the right car for your needs

To support users specifically looking to buy a brand-new car, I introduced a New Car page that brought together key services in one place. Users could configure the car they were interested in, compare different models based on their needs, and request offers from dealers—either to place an order or check for in-stock availability.

The goal was to make the process more straightforward and informative for new car buyers, by combining configuration, model guidance, and dealer contact into a single, user-friendly experience.
